- "Show me Gexa Energy's plans in Houston 77002."

Tool
search_residential_electricity_plans
Read. No writes and no sensitive writes. Returns plans and never enrolls anyone.
Returns residential plans available at a US ZIP code, ranked by EnergyBot's all-in rate: the annualized cost per kWh after fees, bill credits and usage rules.
zipCodeRequiredmonthlyUsageKwhOptionaltermOptionalsupplierNameOptionalplanTitleOptionalEach plan includes the supplier name and logo, plan name, contract term, EnergyBot supplier rating, all-in rate in dollars per kWh, estimated monthly bill, renewable percentage, early termination fee, supplier registration ID where available, the plan's regulatory documents (in Texas: Electricity Facts Label, Terms of Service and Your Rights as a Customer) and an enrollment link.
Results come back three ways: structuredContent holds every plan plus totalCount, the text content summarizes the top five plans for clients that read text only, and ChatGPT and Claude show interactive plan cards.
Coverage
- States. Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois and New Jersey.
- Residential electricity only. Business plans and natural gas aren't covered.
- No plans. A 5-digit ZIP code outside these states, or a search where no plan matches your filters, returns zero plans and no error:
Found 0 plans for zip code 02108 (1000 kWh/month).
Errors
Invalid input returns isError: true and a message that names the field.
- ZIP code not 5 digits.
zipCode must be 5 digits. - Usage or term below 1.
monthlyUsageKwh is less than 1 (must be greater than or equal to 1).The same message applies toterm. - Wrong type or missing ZIP code. A JSON schema validation error, such as
/zipCode: integer found, string expected. SendzipCodeas a string andmonthlyUsageKwhandtermas whole numbers.
How enrollment works
- Users enroll themselves. Each plan has an enrollment link to energybot.com. The user opens it and finishes signup there. Enrollment is limited to adults 18 and older.
- Use the link exactly as returned. It carries the plan and ZIP code, so the user lands on the plan they picked.
- Ranking. Plans are ranked by all-in rate. Suppliers don't pay for placement.
Good to know
- Pass real usage. Rankings change with usage, so a plan that wins at 1,000 kWh may lose at 2,000.
- Narrow big searches. Dallas 75201 returns 140 plans. Pass
termorsupplierNameto keep responses small. - Rate limits. Requests are limited per IP address. If you get HTTP 429, wait 60 seconds and try again.
- Selling to your own customers? PowerHQ, our partner platform, handles providers, enrollments and payouts for brokers and businesses that drive their own traffic. Contact PowerHQ.
Rates and plan terms change often. Check the Electricity Facts Label before enrolling.
