EnergyBot is free to use. When you enroll with a provider through our site, that provider pays us a referral fee. We may also earn revenue when you request a quote or additional offer details. You pay the same rate you would pay going to the provider directly.
Referral fees do not influence our recommendations. If Provider A pays us $50 and Provider B pays us $100, and Provider A is the better plan for your usage, we will recommend Provider A. Rankings are generated from rate data and a forecasted cost against your actual usage from your utility. No provider can pay for placement, and our team is not paid per enrollment.
Your location does affect what you see, and it should. The plans available to you depend on your utility service area and your state's market rules. Delivery charges vary by utility, which is why we calculate the full bill rather than quoting an energy rate alone.
What our commercial relationships do affect is which providers appear on the platform at all. We can only enroll you with providers we have an agreement with, and we only pursue agreements with providers that meet our standards. That means we do not list every licensed provider. It also means the providers you see have been vetted.
