Alliant Energy (Wisconsin Power & Light) - Renewable Incentives Loan Program

February 24, 2010

Summary

WPL’s Renewables Incentive Program offers both low-cost financing and grants for solar-electric, solar water heating, and wind projects undertaken by government or non-profit* entities. The grants program is designed to encourage the implementation of cost-effective non-residential renewable energy projects. It was developed as a voluntary initiative that provides incentives to be used in conjunction with all Focus on Energy, state and federal incentives. Individual system size is not limited under the program, but eligible systems must meet other applicable Focus on Energy equipment and installation requirements in order to be eligible for funding. The incentive amount is calculated as seven times the annual cost of energy displaced by the system, up to 50% of the remaining system cost after other incentives. WPL’s incentives are offered exclusive of participation in WPL’s Advanced Renewable Tariff (ART). Participants in WPL’s ART are not eligible to receive either a grant or project financing from WPL. Ownership of renewable energy credits produced by funded systems is subject to negotiation with the utility. Systems must meet all Focus on Energy equipment and technical requirements (e.g., 2-year installation warranty, 1-year equipment warranty, SRCC certification, etc.) and installation requirements as well as all WPL customer-owned generation requirements.
