Puget Sound Energy - Commercial HVAC Equipment Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

August 13, 2010

Summary

Puget Sound Energy's (PSE) Commercial HVAC Equipment Energy Efficiency Rebate Programs offer a variety of incentives for non-residential customers who purchase natural gas or electricity (depending on program) from PSE. Rebates are available for boiler tune-ups, programmable thermostats, electronically commutated motors, HVAC rooftop services, high efficiency HVAC units, and variable speed drives. The Boiler Tune-up rebate program pays for 100% of the tune-up cost, up to $600. Additional repairs that increase boiler efficiency, including boiler replacement, may also qualify for PSE energy efficiency grant funding. There is no limit on the number of tune-up rebates that may be awarded to a customer for different boilers, but each boiler is limited to one tune-up rebate, and a qualified boiler technician must perform the tune-up. The Programmable Thermostat Rebate program offers a $50 rebate for each eligible programmable thermostat installed to replace a non-programmable thermostat. PSE non-residential customers using "packaged" HVAC rooftop units (RTU's) for facility heating and cooling are eligible for rebates offered by the Premium HVAC Rooftop Service Program. Rebates of up to $1,870 per unit are available when customers agree to have service done by an authorized HVAC contractor. The High Efficiency Commercial HVAC Rebate program offers a rebate of $30 per ton when customers purchase an energy efficient air conditioner or heat pump that meets the Tier 1 standards and is greater than 65,000 Btuh. The Variable Speed Drives Rebate Program offers a $100 per horsepower rebate on qualifying drives. Check program web site to ensure eligibility. Applications must be pre-approved, and funding availability is subject to annual program budgets. For applications and program details and specifications, customers should visit the program website or call 1-800-562-1482 to speak with an Energy Efficiency representative.
