Cowlitz County PUD - Residential Weatherization Plus Program

July 08, 2015

Summary

Cowlitz County PUD offers an incentive to residential customers who weatherize their homes. Eligible residences can be either site-built or manufactured homes, but must have a permanently installed electric heating system.  Homes that rely primarily on oil, gas or wood heat systems, but also have permanently installed electric heat systems, may qualify in certain situations.  An energy analyst certified by Cowlitz PUD must conduct an energy audit of eligible homes prior to the installation of weatherization improvements in order for the customer to qualify for rebates.

Once eligibility of the residence has been determined, and fund availability is confirmed, homeowners must contact approved contractors from which the homeowner may schedule bid appointments. Once the homeowner has obtained bids, they may call the PUD Conservation Department at (360) 577-7514 to schedule a bid-review appointment. A minimum of two bids are required. A customer service advisor will review the owner's chosen bid to determine the PUD's financial contribution and the owner's exact cost.  Visit the program website for contact Cowlitz County PUD for more information.
