Cascade Natural Gas - Conservation Incentives for New and Existing Homes

Summary

Cascade Natural Gas offers a variety of incentives to residential customers including energy efficiency measures in new and existing homes in Washington and Oregon. Incentives listed here apply to Washington residential customers of Cascade Natural Gas. Fuel for the home’s primary heat source must be provided by Cascade Natural Gas for all heating incentives and the home’s water-heating fuel must be provided by Cascade Natural Gas for all water-heating incentives. For new homes, ENERGY STAR Whole Homes Incentives and Upgrades or stand-alone incentives are available. Check the Cascade Natural Gas website for application forms and further equipment requirements.

Rebates effective for installs on or after April 1st, 2022 through December 31st, 2023.

Existing Home Measures
Programmable Thermostat: 7 day (flexibility)/5+2 (workweek/weekend)/5+1+1 day models
Windows: U-Factor must be less than or equal to 0.22 - or - 0.30
Attic or Ceiling Insulation: Insulation must be equal to or greater than R-49, no cavity fill available Prior attic or ceiling insulation must not exceed R-19
Floor Insulation: Insulation must be equal to or greater than R-30, or cavity filled to R-19 Prior floor insulation must not exceed R-11
Wall Insulation: Insulation must be equal to or greater than R-11, or cavity fully filled Prior wall insulation must not exceed R-4
Duct Insulation: Insulation must be equal to or greater than R-8 Prior duct insulation must not exceed R-0
Duct Sealing: Requires a minimum of 30% of applicable ductwork is outside of conditioned space
Prescriptive Air Sealing: Must meet sections 4.4 and 6.2 of the 2016 BPA Residential Weatherization Specifications, Attic insulation must be present.
Whole House Air Sealing: Minimum 400 CFM50 reduction using pre/post blower door testing
Existing Home Bundle A: Any two insulation measures totaling 1,000 sqft installed concurrently, Sealed ducts are a pre-requirement for duct insulation to qualify
Existing Home Bundle B: Same requirements as Bundle A and perform Whole Home Air Sealing

New Construction Measures ENERGY STAR Certified Home: National Program Requirements Version 3.2 (Rev. 09), ENERGY STAR Certification Required
Built Green Certified Home: Requires Built Green 3 Star Certification or greater and 95% AFUE furnace or boiler
New Home Bundle C: Requires natural gas Fireplace or ENERGY STAR Smart Thermostat. Also two unique New Home measures, or a qualifying Home Certificate.
