June 17, 2024

Summary

In April 2007, the San Antonio City Council adopted a resolution requiring that all new buildings funded and used by the City must adopt the green building policy. The policy guidelines must be based on the U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Level.

The City of San Antonio also has an Environmentally Preferred Purchasing Policy (EPPP) which requires the city to incorporate environmental considerations when purchasing goods and services.
