CenterPoint Energy - ENERGY STAR Homes Efficiency Program

Summary

The ENERGY STAR New Homes Program provides incentives to builders in the CenterPoint Energy service territory for the new construction of ENERGY STAR certified homes. The homes must meet a Version 3 requirements or achieve a HERS index of 72 or below, and be at least 15% more efficient than the 2009 IECC. Incentives are tied directly to the amount of energy savings. Depending upon the physical location of the home, homes will be paid based upon kW and kWh savings that are calculated for each home. Eligible features include high efficiency windows, HVAC equipment, tight duct work, lighting upgrades and advanced framing.
