Tennessee - Residential Energy Efficient Appliance Rebates

February 24, 2012

Summary

At noon on August 24, 2010, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development began accepting applications in the order of their postmark date. The applications can be downloaded or requested by calling 877-741-4304.

Applicants will receive rebate checks within eight weeks of successful application submission, which may only be mailed to Tennessee addresses. Rebates will be mailed out on a first-come first-served basis until funds are exhausted or until February 17, 2012.

In addition to these stimulus funded rebates, consumers can review existing TVA energyright water heating rebates and energyright heat pump loans offered by their local providers for additional savings on energy efficiency improvements. Tennessee residents can also receive up to $1,500 in federal tax credits available for energy-efficient heating and cooling systems.

Note: Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is providing a total of $300 million to U.S. states, U.S. territories and the District of Columbia to establish rebate programs for new energy-efficient appliances that replace existing appliances in homes. Each state and territory has designed its own program. Rebates will be available until the state program's funding is exhausted. Be sure to confirm that rebate funds are still available in your state before making purchasing decisions.
