(Not appropriate category) TVA Partner Utilities - eScoreTM Program

March 05, 2015

Summary

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in partnership with local electric utilities offers eScore program, which provides homeowners financial incentives to increase the energy efficiency of existing homes. This program replaces the previous In-Home Energy Evaluation Pilot program offered by TVA.

To participate in the program, homeowner must create an account with the program. After the account is verified, the applicant has two options to participate in the program:

  1. Request for eScore evaluation: If the homeowner is unsure about what exact steps should be taken to increase energy efficiency, then they have a professional energy advisor evaluate their home for a basic fee, who will provide with an eScore (from 1-10) including a list of recommended improvements for improving energy efficiency. The homeowner can then contact the TVA approved Quality Contractor Network (QCN) to get an approved contractor to make the energy efficiency improvements. The contractor will work with the homeowners to apply for the rebates.
  2. Find a Quality Contractor Network Member: If the homeowner has already decided on particular home energy improvements, then they can directly select the QCN contractor to being the process.

The program website also offers an online energy evaluation of the house, after which TVA will send in an energy report along with a free energy conservation kit. List of QCN contractors is available after creating an account with the program. If work has already been performed by a contractor, the homeowner might still qualify for the rebates if the contractor is provided the participant’s Customer Site ID.
