Summary

The Springfield Utility Board (SUB) offers rebates for retrofits and new construction for equipment upgrades/installation including lighting, HVAC, heat pump water heaters, appliances and building shell improvements.

All incentives must be approved prior to being guaranteed. Incentives vary widely depending on the type of lighting and the wattage reduction (for existing building retrofits).

Ductless Heat Pump: $1,000/ton cooling (retrofit), $300/ton cooling (upgrade)
Air Source Heat Pump: $1,000/ton (retrofit), $150/ton cooling (upgrade)
Variable Refrigerant Flow System Retrofit: $1,000/ton cooling
Air Handling Unit VFD: $300/hp
Commercial Packaged Terminal Heat Pump: $600/unit (retrofit), $100/unit (new)
Heat Pump Water Heater: $300 - $800/unit (unitary unit), $1,000/unit (split system)
ENERGY STAR Clothes Washer: $25 - $125 (gas vs. electric washer/dryer combination)
