Bowling Green Municipal Utilities - Net Metering

April 04, 2006

Summary

Bowling Green Municipal Utility (BGMU) voluntarily offers net metering to its customers. (Ohio's statewide net-metering rules apply only to investor-owned utilities.) A standard interconnection permit is available for wind, solar, hydro, fuel cells and microgenerators up to 25 kilowatts (kW) in capacity. Larger installations have site-specific requirements. The treatment of excess generation (NEG) is negotiated with BGMU. There is no limit on overall enrollment. Interconnected systems must comply with all IEEE, NEC and UL standards, as well as local requirements.
