Blue Ridge EMC - Residential Solar Water Heating Rebate Program

April 30, 2010

Summary

Blue Ridge Electric is providing rebates of $500 for their residential members who purchase solar water heating systems. The systems must be installed on an owner-occupied, single-family home, which is the member’s primary residence. Vacation homes and investment properties will not qualify for a rebate as a residential project. At least half of the energy used to heat the dwelling’s water must be from solar in order to be eligible for the rebate. The system must be saving or displacing electricity. Systems saving or displacing other fuels are not eligible for the rebate. At minimum, a SWH system must be designed for a family of four. Other restrictions apply.
