Weatherization Network Initiative

Summary

Through the Weatherization Network Initiative, homeowners who had their home weatherized under the Weatherization Assistance Program and did not receive electric reduction measures, or are on a Weatherization waiting list exceeding six months. The income requirements for an eligible applicant and regional implementers of the program are listed on the program website. After a customer’s eligibility is verified, the implementer will send out a certified contractor to complete the work. The average utility savings for a household are approximately $150/year. Eligible customers are electricity distribution customers of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation, Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc., New York State Electric & Gas Corporation, Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation, Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc., and Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation who pay the System Benefits Charge (SBC).
