A.B. 3723 of 2018 required the Board of Public Utilities to initiate a proceeding to establish a process for achieving a goal of 600 MW of energy storage by 2021 and 2,000 MW by 2030.
The Board issued a straw proposal for a storage incentive program in August 2022 which proposed to incentivize 1 GW of storage by 2030. That program is documented in NJ Board proceeding QO22080540.
