National Grid (Gas) - Solar Thermal Rebate Program

March 14, 2011

Summary

This incentive is no longer offered. National Grid provides funding support to commercial and industrial customers who install solar thermal technologies. Recommended solar thermal applications include solar hot water heating, and in some cases solar space heating or high temperature process applications. For categorization purposes, the programs are considered to be custom energy efficiency measures for qualifying businesses. National Grid requires a free energy audit to interested participants to identify appropriate solar thermal technologies as well as estimated natural gas savings. Commercial and industrial customers receive a one-time rebate of $3 per therm of estimated first-year savings, up to 50% of the project costs or $100,000 per project. Eligibility requirements are in place to ensure quality installation of solar thermal systems. Funding for the program is limited.
