April 30, 2012

Summary

National Grid offers a number of programs to encourage energy efficiency among its residential customers.  Eligible technologies include boilers and furnaces. All equipment must meet certain energy standards provided on the website. If weatherization measures are installed by a pre-approved, BPI-certified contractor, the customer is eligible for a rebate of 50% of the cost (up to $4,000). Eligible weatherization measures include: attic, wall, basement, crawl space, rim joist, and heating system duct insulation; attic ventilation; and air infiltration and ductwork leakage testing and sealing. National Grid also offers a variety of incentives and technical support to help customers achieve the ENERGY STAR certification on new home construction. There is also a Solar Water Heating program for New Hampshire residents, systems must be backed by a natural gas heater. National Grid works directly with solar installers who, upon project completion, will submit a rebate application on your behalf.
