Alliant Energy Interstate Power and Light (Gas) - Residential Energy Efficiency Program

Summary

Interstate Power and Light (Alliant Energy) offers a number of rebates for energy efficiency for Minnesota residential customers a variety of high efficiency heating and cooling measures, including water heaters, gas furnaces, gas boilers, windows, insulation, and thermostats. After completing an energy audit, a residential customer is eligible for up to $500 in rebates for attic and wall insulation. Qualifying attic insulation will have a rating of R-19 to R-38. More details, the incentive application, and an energy audit request form are available on the program web site.

Customers are eligible for room air conditioners and water heaters through the Appliance Rebate Program. Room air conditioners qualify for a rebate of $25 and water heaters qualify for a rebate of $50. Room Air Conditioners are limited to a maximum of three rebates.  Qualifying windows and sashes are eligible for a rebate of $20; windows should be certified by the National Fenestration Rating Council and have a rating of a least .35 or less U-Factor.  Further information can be found at the program web site.

A Home Energy Audit must be completed before new insulation is installed.
