Columbia Gas of Massachusetts - Residential Energy Efficiency Programs

December 02, 2015

Summary

Columbia Gas of Massachusetts participates in energy efficiency programs that reward eligible residential natural gas customers for utilizing energy efficient equipment or measures. The program pays residential customers 75% of the cost of recommended weatherization measures, up to $2,000. Columbia Gas of Massachusetts will perform a free energy assessment and provide its customers with a report listing energy-saving measures that qualify for incentives. If requested, the program can also provide their customers with a pre-approved independent installation contractor. Energy saving measures eligible for the rebate include: attic, wall, and heating pipe/duct insulation and thermostats. When needed, low-flow showerheads, and faucet aerators will be installed at no cost. Low-income customers are eligible to receive all of these measures at no cost. Additionally, up to $8,000 in incentives are also available for the construction of energy efficient Massachusetts homes.

In addition to this incentive, Columbia Gas of Massachusetts offers its residential customers a variety of rebates for the installation of energy efficient HVAC, water heating, and equipment controls incentives. Eligible equipment includes: furnaces, boilers, water heaters, and thermostats.  Rebates range from $25 to $1,200. All equipment must meet energy efficiency standards listed on the program web site.
