Idaho Power - Irrigation Efficiency Rewards

June 23, 2006

Summary

Idaho Power's Irrigation Efficiency Rewards program is designed to help customers pay for energy-efficiency features in their irrigation system, and to encourage and assist in using electricity in an economically efficient manner. More information on Idaho Power's website. The program features two incentive areas:

  1. The Custom Incentive is for extensive retrofits of existing systems or new irrigation systems. Incentives for existing systems are $0.25 per annual kWh saved, or $450 per kW, or 75% of project cost, whichever is less. Incentives for new systems are $0.25 per annual kWh saved, or 10% of project cost, whichever is less.
  2. The Menu Incentive is designed to help cover a significant portion of the costs of repairing and replacing specific components that typically help the irrigation system use less energy. The incentive varies by the sprinkler component or part incorporated in the sprinkler system; Incentives are offered for 11 specific sprinkler parts.
