Snapping Shoals EMC - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

January 20, 2009

Summary

Snapping Shoals EMC provides electric service to about 74,000 residential, commercial and industrial consumers in an eight-county area southeast of Atlanta. They offer an incentive for their residential members to increase the energy efficiency of their homes. Through this incentive program, rebates are provided to members who replace their gas heating with an electric heat pump, or replace their gas water heaters with an energy efficient electric model. Qualifying heat pumps must have a 13 SEER or higher, and replacement water heaters must be at least 50 gallons, and run on 4500 watts with dual elements. Rebate amounts are subject to change at anytime, so interested members are urged to contact the utility for the current rebate level.
