Summary

Hart Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) is an electric cooperative that provides service to 25,000 in Georgia's Hart, Stephens, Franklin, Madison, Banks, and Elbert counties. Hart EMC offers the EC Home Improvement Loan to its residential customers. Customers can perform energy efficiency improvements to their homes and apply for loan funds through a participating contractor with a fixed interest rate and no application fee. A variety of energy efficiency improvements are eligible, and loan amounts can vary from $1,000 to $15,000. For loans under $5,000, the loan term can be from 1 to 5 years, with no prepayment penalty, and loans of above $5,000 can be extended another 5 years.
