Sales Tax Exemption Week for Energy Efficient Products

Summary

Under the authority of Florida Senate Bill 888, October 5th through October 11, 2006 will be designated "Energy Efficiency Week," and energy efficient products will be exempt from the usual sales tax. Eligible products will be those that are designated as energy efficient or meeting Energy Star guidelines and that have a selling price of $1,500 or less. Only residential users are eligible to purchase energy efficient appliances as tax exempt, and customers should not use a business or company credit card or debit card or check to make these purchases.
