(Electric and Gas) Residential New Construction Program

July 08, 2022

Summary

The Energize CT program has an offering designed to encourage the construction of energy efficient homes. The Residential New Construction Program offers incentives targeted at increasing energy efficiency in several important stages in the construction process. Certified HERS raters work with customers' building teams throughout construction. Program incentives vary based upon the final HERS scores, and whether dwelling is a single or multi-family residence.

The program is administered by participating utilities, including Eversource Energy, United Illuminating (UI), Connecticut Natural Gas (CNG), and Southern Connecticut Gas (SCG). Interested customers are required to complete the "Initial Plan" section of the application and submit it to the respective utility administrators prior to starting insulation work to ensure eligibility. Home must achieve all program-mandated standards in order to receive incentives. See program site for further information.
