Denver City - Municipal Renewable Energy Goal

Summary

One of the Energy Office's goals is to achieve 100% renewable electricity for 256 City and County of Denver municipal buildings by 2025. New buildings will be included in the goal as they are added to the city's portfolio.

As of 2020 the city's municipal electricity portfolio is as follows.

Total Building Portfolio:

  • Renewable Electricity Supplies: 42%
  • Electricity Usage: 93.9GWh

General Fund Buildings:

  • Renewable Electricity Supplies: 46%
  • Electricity Usage: 63.4 GWh

Non-General Fund Buildings:

  • Renewable Electricity Supplies: 33%
  • Electricity Usage: 30.4GWh
