Diesel Low Emissions Incentive Grant

Summary

Through the Arizona Department of Commerce's Clean Air Fund, grants are available for the purchase of alternative and clean-burning fuels. The amount of the grant cannot exceed the incremental costs from conventional diesel fuel, excluding taxes. Furthermore, grants under this program may be available for school buses and other municipal vehicles. Specifically, the vehicle must have a gross vehicle weight rating of at least 17,500 pounds, may not be a recreational vehicle as defined by Arizona law, the recipient must intend to have the vehicle registered in Arizona at least three years from the date of grant receipt, and the recipient must plan to operate the vehicle at least 50% of the time in area A (Greater Pheonix) or area B (metropolitan Tucson).
