City of Maricopa - Solar Rebate Program

September 26, 2012

Summary

The City of Maricopa is providing rebates to citizens, both residential and commercial, who install photovoltaic (PV) systems on their homes and businesses. For qualifying applicants, the city will provide a rebate of $0.60 per W-DC, up to $3,000. The city's rebate is in addition to the rebate program offered by the local utility, Electric District No. 3 (ED3). Only systems approved for a rebate from ED3 are eligible for a rebate from the city, and only purchased systems may participate. Leased systems are ineligible. A completed application must be submitted to the city prior to a permit being issued, and the installation must comply with all Planning and Building Safety requirements. Rebate recipients must submit monthly energy logs to track energy savings for at least one year after receiving the rebate. Participants who fail to submit monthly energy logs will have to refund the entire amount of incentive rebate funds to the city. Systems must be interconnected to an ED3 electric meter to participate.
