PV & Wind Rebate Program

Note: This program was fully subscribed as of December 2005. However, the Rhode Island State Energy Office is still accepting applications, which will be placed in queue upon receipt. Rhode Island's PV & Wind Rebate Program offers residents and small businesses a rebate of $3.50 per watt for photovoltaic (PV) systems with a maximum capacity of 2 kilowatts (kW) and $3.00 per watt for PV systems with a capacity between 2 kW and 6 kW. Residents who install wind-energy systems with a maximum capacity of 50 kW are eligible for a rebate of $2.00 per watt (up to 50% of the system's cost). This program is funded by the Rhode Island Renewable Energy Fund, the state's public benefits fund. Contact the Rhode Island State Energy Office for current program information or information on participating PV vendors.
