Empire District Electric offers rebates for energy efficient measures and appliances in new, low-income homes. Rebates are available for several types of building insulation, heat pumps, central air conditioners, refrigerators, and lighting. The level of the rebate available is generally limited to the incremental cost of the efficiency measure above a baseline determined by the utility. The maximum total rebate is $1,100 and individual rebate categories have their own limits. Measures must meet specific efficiency requirements which are generally somewhat higher than the rebate baseline. Contact Empire District Electric for more equipment and rebate information.
