NIPSCO Custom Commercial and Industrial Gas and Electric Incentive Program

January 09, 2018

NIPSCO’s Commercial and Industrial Custom Electric and Natural Gas Incentive Program offers financial incentives to qualifying large commercial, industrial, non-profit, governmental and institutional customers for installing new energy-saving equipment. Custom incentives are designed for more complicated projects, or those that incorporate alternative technologies. Customer pre-approval is required for all Custom incentives.

Under this program, commercial and industrial customers planning to upgrade or invest in a new energy efficiency project(s) will receive a rebate based on the amount of kilowatt hours (kWh) estimated to be saved by the installation of the new equipment or systems. The total Incentive Amounts paid cannot exceed 100 percent of the incremental measure cost and 50 percent of the total Project cost.

Eligible projects, which are designed by the customer, may consist of the retrofit or replacement of existing equipment/systems that result in energy savings. This can include, but is not limited to, lighting, HVAC, compressed air, refrigeration, food service, motors, data centers and IT system projects. For a full list of eligibility requirements, see the program website.

Eligible customers include those currently billed under NIPSCO electric rates 623, 624, 625, 626, 632, 633, 634 or 644 and natural gas rates 421 or 425.
